Luis Enrique Offers Vague Update on Man Utd, Newcastle’s €50M-Rated Target

Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani, who made a €90 million move from Eintracht Frankfurt and is under contract until 2028, may be headed for an exit. Furthermore, his playing time situation remains up in the air.

As the January transfer window approaches, intermediaries have started to sound out several Premier League clubs, including Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Aston Villa, and Newcastle United, about his availability, according to TBR Football.

L’Équipe also reports that PSG have been disappointed with Kolo Muani’s performance and is already making plans for his departure, valuing him between €40 million and €50 million.

Newcastle, one of the teams that was sounded out, has Kolo Muani emerging as a solid option to potentially replace Alexander Isak, per Fichajes. There are ongoing rumors about the Swedish striker’s exit, and the Magpies are actively exploring quality alternatives to ensure their attack doesn’t suffer a significant blow.

Despite arriving at PSG with high expectations, Kolo Muani has not fully met them, leading to growing discontent within the club and paving the way for a possible move. Isak, under contract with Newcastle until 2028, is attracting interest from top clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea.

Kolo Muani is not consistently playing as the striker, and manager Luis Enrique is opting to use a false No. 9 over the 2022 FIFA World Cup runner-up to compensate for Gonçalo Ramos’s injury. As a result, rumors of a departure have surfaced.

Nonetheless, the Spanish boss noted on Friday while talking to the media that he’s counting on all his players, leaving a vague response.

“Randal Kolo Muani? I rely on all my players without exception,” Enrique said (h/t Le10Sport). “I trust what I see in matches and in training. A player who doesn’t play can turn the situation around in training. I can give or take away playing time based on what I see and what I consider best for the team.”
