The body of a 23-year-old man was recovered from Clinton Lake on Saturday, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. On Monday morning, the office identified the man as Cesar Cardenas Olivas, 23, of Topeka.

Spokesman George Diepenbrock said in an email that the Douglas County Underwater Search and Recovery Team found the man, later identified as Olivas. His friends said he had been struggling in the water before he went missing earlier in the evening.

Initial reports said he and his friends were in the area, which was recommended to be closed to swimmers due to flooding, around 5 p.m. The update on the recovery of the body near Bloomington Beach came in around 8:45 p.m. Saturday.
