Ousmane Dembélé is off to a great start this 2024-25 season, scoring three goals and registering three assists in four Ligue 1 matches. The 27-year-old is in his prime years and it seems his play is hitting another level.
Paris Saint-Germain’s forward group is young, with Dembélé being one of the older players—he’s not even 30 yet. If the Parisians were going to succeed without Kylian Mbappé, the former FC Barcelona standout had to step up his game.
As a result, other clubs are noticing what the player is providing to the capital club squad. Moreover, a Premier League side could be probing to see whether the winger would be open to a move to England.
Football Transfers relayed the information that Manchester United have started talks with Dembélé’s representatives about a potential transfer to Old Trafford next year.
The report mentions that Dembélé is keen on moving to the Premier League and is open to leaving PSG to join United. Dembélé, who is the fourth most expensive player ever thanks to his €135 million transfer from Borussia Dortmund to Barcelona in 2017, could be a key target for the club.
With Antony struggling since his €100 million move from Ajax in 2022, United manager Erik ten Hag is on the lookout for a new right winger. Dembélé’s ability to play on both wings makes him an attractive option, especially given Marcus Rashford’s inconsistent performances on the left over the past year.
It’s unlikely that Dembélé will leave the French capital, considering he’s thriving under manager Luis Enrique. Still, it won’t stop other clubs from trying to lure the player considering he might have found consistency in his game.
