MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two people are facing charges after Memphis police say they burglarized Mud Island’s newest attraction.
Memphis Police say 24-year-old Garrett Rogers and 20-year-old Olivia Coletta broke into Mud Island’s newest up-and-coming attraction located in the former Mud-Island Museum.
Police say Rogers and Coletta were caught on camera walking inside the business early Sunday morning.
According to the police report, Rogers was seen taking a 55-inch TV, a Red Bull Refrigerator, and a skateboard out of the business.
“I hate to see that because you know your tax dollars go for places like this for families to come to and everything and then you know you got people that come down here at night and break in. I mean I’ve had my truck broken in here,” said Clay Young, who works along the Mississippi River.
The owner says the duo broke the lock on the door to get inside. Both were arrested on the scene and charged.

Coletta was released on her own recognizance while Rogers was originally given a $50,500 bond. His bond was lowered and he was also released on his own recognizance.
Despite the break-in, big things are coming to Mud Island. New businesses and attractions are springing up with hopes of bringing more people to the once-bustling destination.
Young says working along the river and being from Memphis, he’d love to see new life poured into the area.
“That’s great. That’s really great,” Young said. “I would like to see it open back up.”

“We’re turning 33,000 square feet of the mud-island museum into an adventure play park,” said Christopher Reyes, an artist and technologist.
Garrett Rogers and Olivia Coletta are both charged with criminal trespass, burglary of a building, theft of property $1000-$2500, and vandalism $1000 or less.
Rogers is due back in court on December 17 and Coletta is due back on February 3, 2025.
