Manchester United prodigy backs Real Madrid ace for Ballon d’Or

The day has finally arrived. The Ballon d’Or 2024 ceremony is all set to take place tonight in Paris and the winner of the prestigious Golden Orb will be announced at Theatre du Chatelet in around six to seven hours.

Unlike in previous years, there have been no leaks or reports about the winner of the Ballon d’Or 2024, with the name being kept a secret.

Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr. is one of the top favourites to bag the award, along with Manchester City mainstay Rodri. The names of Dani Carvajal and Lautaro Martinez are also in the mix.

While the winner’s name is a heavily guarded secret, reports suggest that it is Vinicius who will walk away with the Ballon d’Or.

In fact, many footballers, present and former, pundits, and managers have backed the Brazilian international to become a first-time winner of the illustrious award.

Joining the bandwagon now is Manchester United youngster Alejandro Garnacho, who has chosen Vinicius as his pick for the Ballon d’Or.

When asked by El Chiringuito TV to name his winner, the Argentine wonderkid did not hesitate before choosing the Brazilian winger as he said: “Vini.”

As mentioned earlier, Garnacho is one among a sea of supporters for the Real Madrid winger to realise his dream and win the Ballon d’Or this year.

The 24-year-old, after all, enjoyed a fine season in 2023/24, playing an integral role in Real Madrid’s La Liga, UEFA Champions League, and Spanish Super Cup triumph.

Not much time remains before the winner is revealed.
