Martin Ødegaard to miss Nations League double-header, confirm Norway

Norway have confirmed that captain Martin Ødegaard will miss their upcoming Nations League matches.

The Arsenal playmaker returned to the Gunners starting XI last Sunday in their 1-1 draw with Chelsea.

It was the first time the former Real Madrid man had played for Mikel Arteta’s side since injuring his ankle in their draw at Brighton in August.

But the Norwegian FA have now revealed that Ødegaard will not be fit enough for their games against Slovenia and Kazakhstan this month.

A statement on their official website states that Ødegaard “needs time to become match fit again” and will not be available for the double-header.
