Men’s Basketball Alumnus Robert Baker II ’20 Signs with Orlando Magic – Harvard University

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Men’s Basketball alumnus Robert Baker II ’20 has signed a free agent contract with the NBA’s Orlando Magic, President of Basketball Operations Jeff Weltman announced on Saturday.
 
Last season, Baker II played in 29 games, including 18 starts, with College Park of the NBA G League, averaging 14.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.2 assists, and 28.2 minutes per game, while shooting 52.3 percent from the floor.
 
Baker II has played in 87 career NBA G League games including 47 starts over the 2021-22, 2022-23, and 2023-24 seasons with Stockton, Lakeland (now Osceola) and College Park, averaging 10.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.2 blocks. and 21.6 minutes per game. He has also played professionally in Slovakia (2020-21), Puerto Rico (2022-23), and Japan (2023-24).
 
During his time at Harvard from 2016-20, Baker II played in 99 career games with 39 career starts, averaging 4.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 14.9 minutes per game, while shooting 44.2 percent from the field, 33.5 percent from 3-point distance, and 77.5 percent from the free throw line. As a senior, he earned the team’s John Harnice ’84 Spirit Award, while averaging 7.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 22.3 minutes per game across 29 games played and 26 starts. In his final collegiate season, he shot 47.2 percent from the field, 35.6 percent from 3-point distance, and 81.8 percent on free throws.
 
Baker II will wear number seven with the Orlando Magic.
