The Mets are at the Philadelphia Phillies once again in Game 2 of the NL Division Series Sunday at 4:08 p.m. on FS1.

– New York has come alive late in its past week of eighth- and ninth-inning battles. The playoffs have been no different. Between Thursday’s 4-2 Wild Card Series Game 3 win at the Milwaukee Brewers and Saturday’s 6-2 NLDS Game 1 victory against the Phillies in Philadelphia, the Mets have a 6-for-12 (.500) batting line in the eighth and ninth innings while scoring seven runs.
– Third baseman Mark Vientos and left fielder Brandon Nimmo, who started New York’s rally Saturday with their consecutive RBI singles in the eighth inning as the Mets took a 2-1 lead and did not look back, produced a combined 4-for-8 effort that included three RBI, two runs and one walk.
– On the mound, New York turns to right-hander Luis Severino, who is 2-4 with a 5.07 ERA and 1.53 WHIP in 12 postseason game (11 starts) across the Yankees (2017-22) and Mets (2024). In this past Tuesday’s 8-4 Wild Card Series Game 1 win at the Brewers, Severino threw 68 strikes on 105 pitches while scattering four runs (three earned) and five hits with three strikeouts to three free passes (two walks, one hit batter).
