Mets planned to have Francisco Lindor back in starting lineup prior to Wednesday’s rainout in Atlanta

Date:

For the first time since Sept. 15, Francisco Lindor was set to be the Mets’ starting lineup for Wednesday’s matchup against the Braves in Atlanta.

However, Mother Nature had other plans, as an impending hurricane in the Atlanta area has postponed the remainder of the series.

Lindor, dealing with back soreness, has gone through pregame workouts over the past few days to test out his back, including taking batting practice from both sides of the plate on Tuesday.

Lindor also appeared in the on-deck circle in the ninth inning on Tuesday, signaling that he was available to play off the bench.

In 148 games played this season, Lindor has slashed .271/.342/.494 with 31 home runs, 86 RBI, and 103 runs scored.
