The final piece of Michigan basketball’s nonconference schedule is in place.
The Wolverines completed their 11-game slate with a Nov. 21 home contest against Tarleton State, the program announced Friday.
This marks the second all-time meeting between the two programs and second time in four seasons they will square off. Michigan won the first matchup, 65-54, at Crisler Center three seasons ago.
The Texans are coming off a 25-10 campaign under coach Billy Gillispie, their best season since moving up to Division I in 2020-21. They also finished second in the 11-team Western Athletic Conference — and one game behind conference champion Grand Canyon — with a 16-4 mark.
The rest of Michigan’s nonconference slate will feature plenty of Power Four competition, headlined by a Dec. 10 showdown against John Calipari and Arkansas in the Jimmy V Classic at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
Other notable contests include a clash with Oklahoma in the Jumpman Invitational, matchups against Virginia Tech and either South Carolina or Xavier in the Fort Myers Tip-Off, and home games with TCU and Western Kentucky, two teams that made the NCAA Tournament last season.
In total, Michigan will take part in three early-season events and play six home games, five neutral-site games and no true road games in nonconference play.
First-year head coach Dusty May and the Wolverines — which made a late roster addition and added one of May’s sons, Charlie, as a walk-on — will make their regular-season debut at Crisler Center in the Nov. 4 opener against Cleveland State.
Game times and TV designations for most matchups will be announced at a later date. Michigan’s Big Ten schedule is expected to be released next month.
