Believe it or not, the Big Ten season has already arrived in college basketball.

Michigan basketball will open conference play on Tuesday against a red-hot Wisconsin club that has exceeded expectations so far.

Wisconsin is still undefeated this year with impressive wins over Arizona and Pittsburgh and will host the Wolverines for a late-night start only available on streaming via Peacock.

Michigan, meanwhile, has had a pretty impressive start itself, cracking the top 25 in the USA TODAY Men’s Basketball Coaches Poll just a few weeks into the Dusty May era.

The Wolverines are 6-1 this year with their only loss coming in a close game against Wake Forest that was played in Greensboro, just down the road from the Demon Deacons’ campus. Since then, the Wolverines have ripped off fives straight wins, including two games in the Fort Myers Tip-Off last week.

The Wolverines, expected to have a fast pace offense this season, have actually impressed more on the defensive end, holding teams to just 60.1 points per game, which is 17th in the nation.

After a dreadful 3-17 record in the Big Ten last year, the Wolverines and Dusty May will be hoping for a hot start to put all of that behind them.

After Tuesday’s game, the Wolverines will be back in action on Saturday when they host Iowa at Crisler Center for an afternoon start at 2 p.m.

Here’s how to watch the Wolverines’ game against Wisconsin, only available on Peacock.
