Minnesota Duluth’s head coach is Justin Wieck, who played at Kirkwood Community College and Iowa, and then was a graduate assistant coach and a video coordinator for the Hawkeyes. He’s a North Liberty native who attended Iowa City West.

Wieck’s six-year record at UMD is 122-49, including 25-6, 26-10 and 26-7 records the last three seasons. His team reached the NCAA Division II Elite Eight in 2023.

The Bulldogs were picked third this season in the 15-team Northern Sun Conference’s preseason coaches poll.

It will be the first game in a Hawkeye uniform for transfers Drew Thelwell and Seydou Traore, and freshman Connor Koch and Chris Tadjo.
