Maryland men’s basketball earned its first commitment from the class of 2025 in four-star forward Marcus Jackson, Colby Giacubeno of 247Sports first reported.
Jackson is ranked as a four-star prospect by many outlets, but the 247Sports Composite currently rates him as a three-star prospect. He is the No. 28-ranked player at his position and the No. 150-ranked player overall in his class, per the composite. While a Baltimore native, Jackson currently attends Compass Prep in Chandler, Ariz., and is the No. 11-ranked player from Arizona.
He also received offers from Auburn, Georgetown and Arizona State.
With Julian Reese likely entering his last season in College Park, Jackson will have the opportunity to compete for a starting forward spot as a freshman.
