Monday Headlines: Kentucky in the college basketball rankings

Date:

The Kentucky Wildcats found themselves in a low point on Saturday night when they were stunned in an 85-65 defeat by Ohio State.

Going into the game, the Wildcats were ranked No. 4 in the country with just one loss (at Clemson) on their resume.

However, they now have two unranked losses to go with their two top-10 wins (Duke & Gonzaga).

Kentucky is set to close out the 2024 part of their season with a home matchup against Brown on New Year’s Eve, and with over a week to prepare, they will have plenty of time to work out the offensive struggles they went through on Saturday.

The Wildcats’ loss was certainly the worst of their season, and their place in the national rankings is starting to echo that.

EvanMiya dropped Kentucky from No. 9 in their rankings down to No. 18, and Gary Parish downgraded the Wildcats from No. 4 to No. 9.

DRatings moved Kentucky all the way down to No. 25 while both Haslametrics and KenPom completely removed the Wildcats from their Top-25.

Finally, the NET rankings have dropped Kentucky from No. 9 to No. 17.

Check back here throughout the day for updates on where Kentucky stands in the official rankings!
