Genoa captain Morten Frendrup lauded his team for salvaging a last-gasp draw against Roma.
Speaking to the press via TMW in the post-match conference following Genoa’s 1-1 draw with Roma, Morten Frendrup highlighted the shift in momentum in the second half which led to Koni De Winter netting a last-minute equaliser. The Danish international said: “We made some changes between the first and second half, we put more courage into it.”
The 23-year-old was asked about his versatile position on the field and he commented: “Playing more games and acquiring more responsibility but there is a good group.”
Just when the Giallorossi thought that they had come away with all three points from the match, Genoa’s De Winter popped up an equaliser in the 96th minute. Artem Dovbyk’s 36th-minute goal gave the visitors an early lead but the Ligurians kept the pressure on and presented a renewed approach to their game in the second half.
Skipper Frendrup will be in jubilation for his side to steal a point from this challenging encounter and this draw is set to serve as something to build on before Genoa face Sampdoria in the Derby della Lanterna this month.
