Mountain West Announces 2024-25 Preseason Women’s Basketball Honors

LAS VEGAS – The 2024-25 Mountain West women’s basketball preseason honors and team were announced today as voted on by the league’s 11 head coaches and select media.

Colorado State’s Emma Ronsiek and Wyoming’s Allyson Fertig were tabbed as the Mountain West Preseason Co-Players of the Year.

Ronsiek is a graduate transfer from Creighton, where she earned All-Big East first-team honors twice. The transfer also collected MW Newcomer of the Year award. Across her four seasons in Omaha, Ronsiek logged a field-goal percentage of 47.1 percent, shot 35.3 percent from 3-point range, and averaged 14.1 points per game and 5.19 rebounds per game.

Fertig, the Wyoming native, garnered the 2021-22 MW Freshman of the Year honor as well as two All-Mountain West team honors in 2022-23 and 2023-24. Last season, the center led the Conference in field-goal percentage, 59.9 percent, on 175 shots made across all games played in 2023-24. The senior also averaged 8.23 rebounds per game overall and was second in the MW for blocked shots with 49, posting 1.58 per game.

Colorado State’s Kloe Froebe was tabbed the MW Preseason Freshman of the Year. The guard from Lincoln, Illinois, was named the 2024 Illinois Miss Basketball as well as the 2024 Gatorade Illinois Girls Basketball Player of the Year.

Joining Ronsiek and Fertig on the Preseason All-MW team is Air Force’s Milahnie Perry, Boise State’s Natalie Pasco, Fresno State’s Mia Jacobs, New Mexico’s Vianè Cumber, San Diego State’s Adryana Quezada, UNLV’s Alyssa Brown, Kiara Jackson and Amarachi Kimpson.
