FINDLAY — The Lexington Lady Lex and Ontario Warriors girls golf teams are moving on.
Lexington took second as a team at the Division I sectional tournament on Monday at Sycamore Springs Golf Course with a score of 369 while Ontario finished fifth with a 385 to punch their tickets to next week’s Division I District Tournament at Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green.

The Top 5 teams and Top 5 individuals not on a Top 5 team all advanced to the district tournament. Lexington was led by Makaree Chapman who shared low-round honors with Findlay’s Ava Metz with a 78. Chapman showed consistency with a 39-39 on the scorecard. Aniyah Monica posted a 46-46-92 while Lauryn Nupen added a 45-49-94, Kyler Lamb added a 54-51-105 and Willow Roberts rounded out the scoring for Lex with a 61-52-113.
Ontario saw Brinlee Kreger shoot a 48-43-91 while Brooklynn Black added a 47-48-95, Alexia Sesco carded a 51-48-99, Ashley Hall chipped in with a 48-52-100 and Delaney Moritz rounded out the scores with a 58-58-116.
Mansfield Senior had three individuals in the tournament as Alyssa Turner carded a 71-72-143, Marissa Witte had a 71-84-155 and Chelonta Phillips had an 82-92-174.
Ashland won the Division I sectional team championship led by Kyah Huckleberry with a 45-41-86 while Elleni Miller had a 47-41-88, Natalie Kohler added a 42-46-88, Chloe Crunkilton carded a 49-48-97 and Haylee Bond rounded out the scores with a 55-52-107.
The Division I girls golf district tournament will be on Oct. 2 at Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green.
