MSU Men’s Basketball train for the season

Date:

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – Sports Director Ernest Strawther III spent a day training with the Midwestern State Men’s Basketball team.

MSU opens their season on November 8, against UC Colorado Springs.

The mustangs went 16-12 last season and 12-4 at home.

“I think it’s just preparing yourself mentally everyday”, Midwestern State Guard Bakari LaStrap said.

I think you will get over those hurdles even for us today it was pretty hard but just stack one day at a time you’ll get there,” LaStrap said.

This year’s team will have a heavy senior presence with 6 of their top leading scorers returning.

“Well our biggest concern going into this season was how do we compliment our returners coming back,” Midwestern State Men’s Basketball Head Coach Justin Leslie said.

“We return our six leading scorers from last year which in this day and age is hard to do. So, we had a lot of quality on our roster returning so finding players that fit that that would come in and help put us over the top and get better was our main priority,” Leslie said.

MSU looks to finish atop the Lone Star Conference this season.
