Nancy Mace Fumes Over Journalist’s ‘Insulting’ Challenge To Her Anti-Trans Fixation

Date:

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) insisted that she was “working hard” for her constituents on Thursday as she fumed over a journalist pressing her about her anti-trans crusade in Congress.

Scripps News anchor Liz Landers, in a fiery interview with the lawmaker who once claimed that “no one should be discriminated against” including trans people, noted that Americans are “facing a lot of challenges” and listed several issues as she noted the impact they have on South Carolinians.

“Why do you think your constituents want you to focus on this bathroom resolution and not their jobs that were just potentially lost at Boeing?” asked Landers in an interview that featured several anti-trans remarks from Mace.

“Do you really think that women in Congress can’t walk and chew gum at the same time? Like you’re going to insult me and say that —,” Mace replied.

“Well, congresswoman —,” Landers said.

“I can’t, I can’t work on multiple issues —,” Mace continued.

“I did not say that,” Landers shot back.

“I’m going to let you know. No, no, no, no, no,” Mace added.

“I looked at your social media and I did not see anything about Boeing. Have you put out a statement about Boeing?” pressed Landers later on layoffs that will reportedly affect over 200 residents in Mace’s state.

Mace has fixated on pushing a bill that would ban trans women from using the women’s bathroom on Capitol Hill, taking to social media to postseveralvideos and picturesand to rantaboutthetopic in recent days.

She introduced the legislation after Rep.-elect Sarah McBride (D-Del.) became the first openly trans person elected to Congress earlier this month.

Mace, after Landers continued to press her on the Boeing layoffs, later scoffed in response.

“You are incredulous and so insulting to women,” replied Mace, who claimed she had to “get all the facts” and “understand what’s really going on so I don’t shoot from the hip prematurely.”

She later continued, “And nothing some left-wing journalist like you can say will stop me from working hard for the people of South Carolina.”
