A popular nationwide sub sandwich shop will add to its fleet of restaurants Wednesday when its newest Northeast Florida store opens on the Northside.
Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced, made-to-order, handcrafted sub sandwiches, is opening at 725 Nautica Drive in River City Marketplace near Jacksonville International Airport.
The subs can be served “Mike’s Way” with onions, lettuce, tomatoes, red wine vinegar, olive oil blend, oregano, and salt or guests can customize the toppings. The sandwiches also can be ordered as wraps or bowls.
The new sub shop is among 11 locations open throughout Duval County. Another is slated for 90 Riverside Ave. Suite 604 in Brooklyn Station near downtown Jacksonville, according to its website.
Jersey Mike’s also has multiple restaurants in neighboring Clay, Nassau and St. Johns counties.

The River City Marketplace restaurant’s hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
Founded in 1956 in Point Pleasant, N.J., the sandwich shop chain Jersey has more than 3,000 locations open and in development, according to the news release.
In addition, since 2010, Jersey Mike’s locations nationwide have raised more than $110 million for local charities. In 2023, the company’s 13th Annual Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving in March raised $21 million for more than 200 local charities, the news release stated.
