Nebraska basketball falls on the road against Michigan State

Date:

The Nebraska Cornhuskers took their second trip out of state for the season, this time to East Lansing to play the Michigan State Spartans. The Spartans wasted no time sniffing out any signs of Nebraska sparks, taking down the Huskers 89-52.

Nebraska hung on heading into halftime despite Michigan State attempting to blow the lead wide open. This occurred in the second half, however, as the Spartans outscored the Huskers 48-21.

Michigan State landed 29-of-56 from the field, 22-of-23 from the free throw line and 9-of-23 from beyond the arc. Nebraska meanwhile shot 18-of-54 from the field, 12-of-18 from the free throw line and 4-of-22 in three-point range. The Spartans also dominated at the board, outrebounding the Huskers 48-19.

Andrew Morgan led Nebraska in scoring (14) and rebounds (7), shooting 6-of-13 from the field. Brice Williams also cracked double digits in scoring, dropping 11 points. He also led the Huskers in free throws, going four-of-four at the line. Rollie Worster and Juwan Gary both dropped nine points.

The Huskers fall to 6-2 on the season and will return home to welcome Indiana on Friday night. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. on FOX.
