No. 11 Purdue basketball vs. No. 18 Texas A&M prediction, TV, start time on 12/14/24

Date:

play

Purdue basketball makes its annual visit to Indianapolis on Saturday, Dec. 14, when it plays Texas A&M in the Indy Classic.

The No. 11 Boilermakers (8-2, 1-1 Big Ten) are coming off a challenging weekend of Big Ten play, falling hard to Penn State and fending off a challenge from Maryland. Purdue makes 40.8% of its 3-pointers (No. 9 in the nation) and is willing to go deep into the shot clock (53.4 shots per game, No. 333 of 364 in the nation). The Boilers nab just 5.0 steals (No. 323) and block 2.2 shots (No. 304) per game, so fast break opportunities are relatively few.

The No. 18 Aggies (8-2) have won four straight games, all against power conference opponents (Creighton, Rutgers, Wake Forest, rival Texas Tech). Texas A&M doesn’t shoot great (41.2% overall, No. 273), but it attacks the glass better than anyone in the nation (14.5 offensive rebounds, 42.4% of its misses, both No. 1). The Aggies are +9.2 in rebound margin per game.
