NYC is the number one travel destination in the world for 2025

Date:

Although 2024 has not quite come to a close yet, folks are already looking forward to a new year… and new vacations.

New Yorkers, though, are in luck: turns out that they already live in the most sought-after destination for the year 2025. According to travel experts at global hospitality group Accor, New York is the number one trending city to visit in the new year.

To come up with the ranking, the company looked at U.K. search data regarding popular holiday destinations and then split the statistic further. The experts then gave each city a score out of 100, “representing its expected popularity,” according to an official press release. “To complement this, we scraped thousands of recent (last 12-months) popular travel articles and blogs,” reads the survey, which you can find in full right here.

Other than expressing excitement and whatever the opposite of surprise is at our placing on the list, we don’t have much to add to this all. We will, however, remind you of all the amazing things to do in NYC for both locals and tourists, from immersive experiences to tours of landmarks, outdoor public art opportunities, delicious meals at the top restaurants in town and much more. It is no surprise everyone wants to come visit!

If you already live here (lucky you!), consider planning a 2025 trip to any other city mentioned on the list. If you’d rather skip over the only other U.S. mention, Orlando, then, perhaps, consider visiting the Bahamas, London, Jamaica or Mexico City.
