Official: Real Madrid duo face up to one month out after suffering muscular injuries

Real Madrid’s 4-0 win over Osasuna was a much-needed result for the dressing room but arrived at a price far more than Los Blancos were willing to pay.

The biggest setback from the game, undoubtedly, was the ACL injury to Eder Militao which the club officially confirmed earlier today. He will be out of action for at least nine months and will not feature again this season.

Also injured against the Pamplona-based side were Rodrygo Goes and Lucas Vazquez, and the Merengues have now confirmed the nature and prognosis of their setbacks.

Rodrygo is out for a month

Real Madrid’s young Brazilian winger, Rodrygo, was forced off the field in the 20th minute on the night after his discomfort increased as the minutes passed.

Now, Fabrizio Romano brings to light that the 23-year-old has suffered a muscular setback once more and will be out of action until the beginning of December.

The player will thus miss between three to four weeks of action including critical games against Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League and Leganes, Getafe and Athletic Club in La Liga.

An update on Vazquez

Also injured on the night was Los Blancos’ right-back Lucas Vazquez who has himself been serving in the absence of Dani Carvajal.

The team’s backup full-back, however, has suffered an equally serious setback as relayed by the Italian journalist and tests conducted on the player have confirmed a muscular setback.

Vazquez will thus miss three weeks of action, roughly the same timeline as Rodrygo. Given that the team have no more backup right-backs ready, however, it comes as a massive blow to Carlo Ancelotti’s dynamics.
