With more than 7,400 votes, Olentangy golfer Meadow Tian is the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Athlete of the Week for Aug. 19-25.
Tian shot a 7-under par 65, a program record, in the OCC-Cardinal Division tournament at Blacklick Woods. That is the lowest round shot this season in Ohio, and also a Blacklick women’s course record.
Tian received 49.2% of the vote and was followed by New Albany water polo player Dylan Shoemaker, who received 40% and Olentangy golfer Jodie Han (8.3%).
Shoemaker, the runner-up, had 39 saves, six steals, four assists and a goal in four games. He had a save rate of 55%.

Han shot a 6-under par 66 to win the Lexington Invitational.

Nominations are due Monday mornings for competitions that took place the previous week. The poll is live until 4 p.m. Fridays.

Once athletes win during the regular season, they’re not eligible to be back on the ballot until the postseason. Athletes who have not been a recipient of one of the weekly awards can be nominated more than once.
