One detail at Milan training suggests no immediate crisis after Fonseca rant

Milan were back to business as usual on Thursday morning following their 2-1 win over Red Star and Paulo Fonseca’s subsequent rant at his players’ attitude during his post-match press conference, but despite the coach’s criticism, one detail suggests that there is no immediate crisis in the Rossoneri camp.

Fonseca accused his players of not fulfilling their obligation to give their absolute all for the shirt, despite picking up a 2-1 win over Red Star in San Siro on Wednesday night.

The coach also said he would have no issue in fielding players from the Milan Futuro or Primavera squads if the situation is not resolved in the near future.

What happened at Milan training after Fonseca’s outburst

Despite his strong and public criticism of the mentality within the group, or certain parts of it at least, it was business as usual as the Milan first-team reported for a recovery session on Thursday morning.

None of the club’s high-ranking officials or directors were in attendance. No Zlatan Ibrahimovic, no Goeffrey Moncada, nor Giorgio Furlani or Paolo Scaroni either, which suggests that there is no immediate crisis within the Milan camp as a result of Fonseca’s post-match rant.

The Rossoneri will not be in Champions League action again until January, when they will play Girona and Dinamo Zagreb, but there are still three Serie A matches remaining this calendar year against Genoa, Hellas Veorna and Roma.
