Packers buy Green Bay Distillery land; restaurant to continue operations there

Date:

ASHWAUBENON – The Green Bay Packers have purchased the Green Bay Distillery property on Mike McCarthy Way.

The Packers paid $4.5 million for the property, 842 Mike McCarthy Way in Ashwaubenon, according to Brown County land records. The deal closed on Monday.

So far this calendar year, the Packers have spent nearly $13.5 million on seven parcels, five commercial and two residential. All are south or east of Lambeau Field. Most of the commercial businesses have moved or are planning moves to new sites.

However, like Lyndahl Funeral Home in Green Bay, whose land the Packers purchased in 2020, the distillery/restaurant, which has a multiyear lease, will continue to operate as normal. “Nothing really changes for Green Bay Distillery,” owner Michael McNerney said in an email.

It is the 13th parcel on Mike McCarthy way to be owned by the Packers. They also own a parcel on Borvan Way that is adjacent to the distillery property.

The Green Bay Packers acquired the Green Bay Distillery property at 835 Mike McCarthy Way, Ashwaubenon, for $4.5 million. For the distillery/restaurant, it will be business as usual.

All told, the Packers spent $80 million buying land around Lambeau Field, most of it over the last 17 years. The team owns more than 92 acres, most of it in Ashwaubenon and half of it as part of the Titletown district.

The Packers have not said what they will do with the land. Team representatives say owning the land gives them flexibility for the future. Also, some of the lots could be used for operations during the 2025 NFL draft, scheduled for April 24-26 in Green Bay.
