Patricia “Cricket” Young Butler, 83, passed away on October 23, 2024, at Morrison Manor.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Woodville Pentecostal Holiness Church, officiated by Pastor LeGrande Taylor. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 -2:00 PM at the church prior to the service.

Born on January 5, 1941, in Johnston County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Thad Young and Lila Wyatt Young.

Cricket dedicated many years of service to Abbott Laboratory before her retirement. Her work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident to all who worked alongside her. She attended Woodville Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Her interests were as rich and diverse as the life she led. Cricket found joy in the simple pleasures of church, family, and traveling, cherishing the opportunities to explore new places with friends and loved ones. Her four great-grandchildren were the apple of her eye.

Kind and loving are words that merely begin to describe Cricket. Her gentle demeanor, coupled with a strength that seemed to know no bounds, made her a figure of admiration and inspiration. Cricket’s unwavering positivity and her ability to see the good in every situation left an indelible mark on everyone she met.

Cricket is survived by her son, Phil Butler (Jackie); her grandchildren, Shane Butler (Alexandra) of Laurinburg and Miranda “Randi” Nassif (Mark) of Matthews, NC; her great-grandchildren, Harper Butler, Mason Butler, Brody Nassif and Micah Nassif; her brothers, Terry Young (Danelia “Dee”) of Lake Wylie, SC and Roy Young (Madeline) of Laurinburg; and a host of family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Edward Butler; her son, James “Jamie” Harold Butler; and her brother JT Young.
