Drama continues to circulate around the New York Rangers.
On top of the on-ice struggles and constant trade rumors, Paul Bissonnette revealed on the Spittin Chiclets Podcast that Sean Avery is reportedly set to meet with Rangers owner James Dolan in New York.
“I’m also hearing rumblings that Sean Avery is going over to NYC to meet with James Dolan to talk about the state of the New York Rangers,” Bissonnette said. “He said I’m flying to New York specifically to meet with Dolan to talk about the state of the team.”
Avery played with the Rangers for a total of six seasons as his physical style of play made him a fan favorite in New York.
The details of this conversation between Avery and Dolan are unclear while no other media outlet has confirmed if Bissonnette’s report is true or not.
Emily Kaplan of ESPN reported Dolan still supports Rangers general manager Chris Drury despite some frustration from the players directed at Drury.
“There are some players that are super frustrated towards Chris Drury and the way he’s handled business over the last several months,” Kaplan said. “There are also players that still support him. That’s all pretty normal.
“The one reporting I did land on though is the owner James Dolan still supports Chris Drury. In fact, James Dolan was aware of that memo Drury sent out last month that has now begun this free fall.”
We’ll have to see if anything comes out of this alleged conversation between Dolan and Avery, but keep your eyes peeled for the ongoing situation going on with the Rangers.
