Inter had a new concern for their defence after Benjamin Pavard limped off with a muscular problem during their Champions League game with RB Leipzig.
The centre-back was running as he pulled up clutching the back of his left thigh just before half-time at San Siro this evening.
See how that game unfolds on the Liveblog.
Simone Inzaghi’s staff immediately realised this was not going to be something he could shake off, nor decided to wait until the break, so replaced him with Yann Bisseck.
Initial reports suggest it is a flexor or hamstring problem for Pavard in the left leg.
Inter issues growing in defence
It is another blow for the options in defence, because Francesco Acerbi already picked up a muscular issue during Saturday’s 5-0 Serie A victory over Hellas Verona.
Other than these two centre-backs, the treatment room at San Siro is beginning to empty out, as Carlos Augusto and Tajon Buchanan both made their comebacks at the weekend after lengthy absences.
