Penguins 2024 Second Round Pick Traded To Calgary In CHL Deal

Date:

It appears that one of the Pittsburgh Penguins‘ top prospects has been involved in a major CHL transaction.

Forward Tanner Howe – the Penguins’ 46th overall pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft – was traded, along with Corbin Vaughn, by the Regina Pats to the Calgary Hitmen for Keets Fawcett, Reese Hamilton, three picks, and an unnamed prospect on Wednesday.

The move will not affect Howe’s NHL rights, which remain in Pittsburgh.

The Pats seem to be headed toward building their draft and prospect pools, while Calgary is looking to load up their roster. In 10 games with the Pats this season, Howe had recorded six goals and seven points.

Howe, who was the captain of the Pats, signed his three-year entry-level contract with the Penguins this summer and has logged a total of 98 goals and 240 points in 217 WHL games. He participated in his first Penguins’ training camp this pre-season.
