Pirates top EC 4-1 on the courts

Sep. 1—GREENSBURG — The Greensburg boys tennis team defeated Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference foe East Central 4-1 Thursday.

Mason McNulty cruised at No. 1 singles, not giving up a game in his 6-0, 6-0 win.

At No. 2 singles, Dan Fisse was defeated 6-1, 6-3.

At No. 3 singles, Jacob Duerstock posted a 6-2, 6-4 victory.

The Pirates took both points in doubles action.

Greensburg’s No. 1 duo of Jack McKinsey and Reece Beaver lost only one game in posting a 6-1, 6-0 win.

At No. 2 doubles, Reece Chapman and Wade Schutte won a tight first set in a tiebreaker 7-6 and put the match away, winning 6-2 in the second set.

The Pirates are back on the court at 5 p.m. Thursday hosting EIAC foe Connersville.
