Police: Juvenile shoots 14-year-old boy in West Lafayette; suspect on the run

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — A 14-year-old boy suffered a gunshot wound Monday night in the 300 block of Candlelight Plaza, a trailer park west in West Lafayette, police say.

Police are looking for a juvenile suspected of firing the shot, according to the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office.

As of Tuesday morning, it was not quite clear what led up to one juvenile shooting the other. The 911 call was made at 8:20 p.m. Monday.

Paramedics rushed the teenager to the hospital.

The sheriff’s office did not comment about the seriousness of the boy’s wound, but he is alive as of Tuesday morning, according to the sheriff’s office.

This story will be updated when the sheriff’s office releases more information Tuesday afternoon.
