Predicting the final score of all 20 Michigan State Big Ten basketball Big Ten games

Date:

In case you missed it, the Big Ten announced their conference schedules for the upcoming season and the Spartans have a somewhat favorable schedule in my opinion. However, Michigan State basketball still has to play the games at the end of the day so while the schedule seems manageable you never know what’s going to happen especially during the offseason.

However, that won’t stop me from predicting how Tom Izzo’s squad will do. So here are my final score predictions for all 20 Big Ten conference games for Michigan State this season.

Michigan State’s Big Ten slate begins in the beginning of December once again with two games before they head back to the non-conference for three more games. This season the Spartans open Big Ten play at Minnesota, and you couldn’t ask for a better start to conference play.

Minnesota was a solid team last year that beat MSU once, but the Gophers lost just about every contributor from last season and failed to bring in anyone noteworthy to replace them.

This should be an easy win to start the Big Ten season and a will be a good way to build some confidence in their first true road game.

Prediction: Michigan State wins 75-61

After a nice win on the road at Minnesota the Spartans come home a few days later to take on the Cornhuskers of Nebraska. I personally think Nebraska will be a little better than Minnesota this year, but some publications out there actually project Nebraska to be worse.

So this could very well be another easy game for the Spartans.

Now while it’s hard to say any Big Ten game is an automatic win, this one feels like one in my head. The first home conference game of the year with a chance to get to 2-0 is enough juice to get the Breslin Center rocking, and when Breslin gets rocking it’s hard for MSU to lose.

Prediction: Michigan State wins 83-73

Updated Record: 2-0
