PSG’s Luis Enrique Offers Straightforward Response When Asked About Arsenal Clash

Many supporters are already looking forward to a UEFA Champions League clash against Arsenal on the road at the Emirates Stadium this upcoming week. However, Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique isn’t joining them.

The Parisians want to show that their Matchday 1 performance isn’t an issue that will linger throughout their 2024-25 season. Nonetheless, before that heavyweight matchup the reigning Ligue 1 champions face Stade Rennais.

Now, it’s easy to look ahead to the match against the Premier League side, but Enrique is ensuring that his squad has the task at hand, which is the league contest.

“At no time against Rennes will I think about the Arsenal match,” Enrique told reporters (h/t Canal Supporters). “We have to win the match against Rennes, everything else is in the future and doesn’t interest me.”

For the Arsenal match, though, the capital club will be missing key players as they look to leave England with all three points. L’Equipe reports that the status of Gianluigi Donnarumma, Marco Asensio, and Désiré Doué is uncertain for the upcoming game against Arsenal, raising some concerns for the team.

Meanwhile, Vitinha has been engaged in individual training. While his condition is not a major concern, the player’s fitness remains questionable as the Champions League approaches.
