PSV reach agreement with Hirving Lozano’s successor

According to Voetbal International, PSV are well on their way to signing Esmir Bajraktarevic (19) from the New England Revolution. An agreement has reportedly been reached with both the club and the player, with the transfer being worth up to $6m (or €5.7m).

Bajraktarevic’s medical is set to take place on Thursday, before he signs his contract. The winger has been brought in by PSV to replace Hirving Lozano as he moves in the opposite direction, Stateside to San Diego FC.

The Bosnian international will join up with Peter Bosz’s first team, but could turn out for Jong PSV in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie to get up to speed.

The 19-year-old winger was born in the United States, for whom he played one international match. However, through paternal heritage, he switched allegiance to represent Bosnia and Herzegovina, for whom he has six caps.

Bajraktarevic has shown great potential so far in his formative career – scoring three goals and registering one assist in 29 MLS matches last season.
