The Purdue men’s basketball season begins Monday, Nov. 4, 2024, when the Boilermakers host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

Purdue is coming off a national championship appearance, and returns three starters from that team: Braden Smith, Fletcher Loyer and Trey Kaufman-Renn. The Boilermakers have other key returnees and a large and promising freshman class. Coach Matt Painter is starting his 20th season.

The Islanders finished second in the Southland Conference in 2024 with a 21-12 overall record. Leading scorers Garry Clark (13.2 points per game, 8.1 rebounds) and Dian Wright-Ford (10.4) return. Two Indiana products play for TAMCC: Shilo Jackson (North Central High School, 6.4 points, 4.0 rebounds last season) and Owen Dease (Evansville Reitz, 7.2 points, 3.7 rebounds). Jim Shaw is the coach.
