The Las Vegas Raiders are going to be on their 5th coach in 5 seasons, counting interims after they fired Antonio Pierce on Tuesday.

The timing of the move was curious.

They let Antonio Pierce meet with the media on Monday.

He said, I don’t think I’m going to be gone.

I think that’s just noise from the outside.

Well, there was noise coming from the inside too, because after a 4-13 record, Mark Davis has decided to change course yet again.

Pierce.

Was the interim two years ago after Josh McDaniels got fired and did a pretty good job, won some games, got the support of his players, but ultimately he couldn’t replicate that success in 2024 and Davis decided to make the move.

You have to wonder how much new minority owner Tom Brady had to do with this, especially with his friend and former teammate Mike Vrabel out there interviewing with other teams for their head coaching vacancies.

Vrabel will definitely be a name to keep.

An eye on, but this isn’t a job that is very enticing.

There’s really no answer quarterback, there’s not a lot of talent on the roster, especially after trading Devante Adams in midseason.

It’s pretty much Brock Bauer, Max Crosby, and then you’re hoping to build something.

It’s nothing new for the Raiders.

They seem to be in a perennial rebuild, and that’s gonna start again with a new course of action after Mark Davis decided to fire Antonio Pierce on Tuesday.
