Rangers Send Matt Rempe Down To The AHL

Date:

Rempe mania is over for now as the New York Rangers have sent Matt Remoe down to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League.

The young enforcer broke onto the scene last season and was an instant fan favorite with his fighting and physical play enamoring the Rangers fanbase.

However, he averaged just 5:38 minutes in the 17 games that he played and in the playoffs, Rempe was benched for a large portion of it.

While Rempe made the team out of training camp, he’s been a healthy scratch for five out of New York’s seven games.

Now Rempe gets a chance to prove himself in Hartford and attempt to climb his way back up to the NHL.
