RB Leipzig go in search of their first Champions League win in this season’s edition as they host Arne Slot’s Liverpool tonight.
The Saxony club took the lead against both Atletico Madrid and Juventus but ended up on the losing side after conceding in the closing stages, and they’ll face an equally difficult task tonight against a Liverpool team that has just one defeat this season.
They will also be without David Raum, who underwent ankle surgery, so we could see Marco Rose field the same team that beat Mainz 2-0 at the weekend.
A back three of Lukas Klostermann, Willi Orban and Castello Lukeba with Lutsharel Geertruida and Antonio Nusa would make the most sense here, with a double pivot of Amadou Haidara and Arthur Vermeeren.
In attack, don’t expect Rose to deviate from his attacking trio: Xavi Simons, Loïs Openda and Benjamin Šeško.
Rose also has several options from the bench with Kevin Kampl, Benjamin Henrichs, Christoph Baumgartner and Yussuf Poulsen.
Predicted RB Leipzig XI vs Liverpool
Peter Gulácsi – Lukas Klostermann, Willi Orban, Castello Lukeba – Lutsharel Geertruida, Amadou Haidara, Arthur Vermeeren, Antonio Nusa – Xavi Simons – Loïs Openda, Benjamin Šeško
