Real Madrid breeze into Copa del Rey last-16 with Minera win

Date:

Real Madrid reached the Copa del Rey’s last-16 with a 5-0 win over Deportivo Minera.

Scorers: Valverde 5′, Camavinga 13′, Güler 28′, Modrić 55′

Federico Valverde gave the visitors the lead after five minutes by volleying home before Eduardo Camavinga met Fran García’s delivery to double their advantage.

Arda Güler added a third from a sweeping left-footed finish inside the area, which was followed in the second half by Luka Modrić’s first-ever Copa goal in 13 years.

Güler capped off a comprehensive rout for Carlo Ancelotti’s side in the closing stages by doubling his tally by converting García’s cutback in the middle of the area.

Los Blancos will discover their next opponents in Wednesday’s Round of 16 draw.
