Real-World Minecraft Parks Coming to US and UK – Focus on Travel News

Merlin Entertainments and Mojang Studios, the creators of the world’s best-selling video game Minecraft, are transforming the virtual world into reality with the launch of immersive Minecraft-themed attractions.

These ground-breaking experiences are set to debut in the US and UK between 2026 and 2027, marking the first phase of a global rollout of real-world Minecraft adventures.

The collaboration, called “Adventures Made Real,” is backed by an initial investment of over £85 million ($110 million) and will include first-of-its-kind Minecraft-themed accommodations, retail outlets, dining experiences, and thrilling rides. Fans will be able to interact with physical Minecraft environments enhanced by digital features, creating cross-reality experiences that align seamlessly with the game’s core elements.

A Bold Step for Immersive Entertainment

The partnership between Merlin’s creative team, Merlin Magic Making, and Mojang Studios ensures that every detail of these attractions will be authentic to the beloved Minecraft universe.

Guests can also expect interactive touchpoints that allow them to unlock exclusive in-game content, extending the adventure beyond the physical world.

“This is a significant milestone for Merlin,” said Scott O’Neil, CEO of Merlin Entertainments. “Minecraft is the best-selling video game of all time, and this world-first will let fans experience its thrill and creativity in real life, at theme parks and city-center attractions in major tourist destinations.”

A New Frontier in Themed Entertainment

The attractions will follow the success of Merlin’s partnerships with other global brands, such as LEGO, Peppa Pig, and Sony Pictures. This marks Merlin’s first global collaboration with a gaming brand, reflecting the growing intersection between gaming and real-world entertainment.

Kayleen Walters, Vice-President of Franchise Development for Gaming at Microsoft, emphasized the potential of the project: “These new real-life Minecraft experiences will not only grow our community but offer fans many more opportunities to immerse themselves in the world of Minecraft in ways they’ve never imagined.”

With plans to expand beyond the US and UK, Merlin Entertainments aims to roll out Minecraft-themed attractions across its global portfolio of locations. From interactive rides to themed accommodations, these experiences will provide a dynamic and immersive way for fans to explore the Minecraft universe like never before.
