The Broncos scored 24 points in the second half of Sunday’s game and came back to beat the Colts, but there was one negative development in the final minutes.
Cornerback Pat Surtain II left with an ankle injury with just over two minutes left and did not return for the final snaps of the 31-13 win. It does not sound like the Broncos are going to have to be without him for an extended period of time, however.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Surtain suffered a minor ankle sprain. There’s no word on what that might mean for his availability against the Chargers this week, but it does suggest that he won’t miss much time for a team closing in on a playoff spot.
Surtain had his fourth interception of the season on Sunday. He also has 59 tackles and 13 passes defensed this year.
