NEW DELHI: India will look to bounce back from the disappointment of losing the Adelaide Test as they prepare to face Australia in the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The match will begin on December 14 at the Gabba in Brisbane.
India have played seven Tests at this venue, winning only once. That victory came in 2021 under the captaincy of Ajinkya Rahane, when India defeated Australia by three wickets.
Is India’s batting now over dependent on Yashasvi Jaiswal?
Rishabh Pant was the hero of that historic match, scoring an unbeaten 89 off 138 balls to help India break Australia’s dominance at the Gabba and win their first-ever Test at the ground.
Pant will once again be in the spotlight when India takes on Australia at the Gabba on Saturday. He has scored 112 runs at the venue and is just 63 runs away from topping the list of Indian batters with the most runs at the Gabba.
At the top of that list is former India cricketer Motganhalli Laxminarsu Jaisimha, with 175 runs in one match at the venue.
