Roberto Mancini clarifies: “Roma never contacted me, I would have said yes.”

Former Italy manager Roberto Mancini clarified the rumors that had linked him with a move to Roma a few weeks ago.

The ex-Manchester City boss was rumored as Roma’s top candidate to succeed Ivan Juric prior to Claudio Ranieri’s appointment.

However, Mancini dismissed this in a recent interview with Il Giornale.

“I was never contacted by Roma,” said Mancini. “Nobody called me.”

“I was pleased to read that many Roma fans would have been happy with my arrival and many Lazio fans would have been pissed off.”

“If there had been the conditions for a good project to carry forward together, I would have said yes.”
