Roma boss Ivan Juric hails Lorenzo Pellegrini: “He moves like a god”

Roma manager Ivan Juric has issued some big praise for star midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini, backing him to succeed at a point where he isn’t enjoying the best of form.

Juric has had a positive impact at Roma since his arrival after the sacking of Daniele de Rossi, with the side clearly already playing the sort of brand of football that the Croatian likes to preach.

He recently spoke to Corriere dello Sport about how things have been in his new side and Juric ended up praising Pellegrini and how he moves on the pitch, stating that he is simply unfortunate to not have scored even once this season.

“Pellegrini has had 6-7 scoring opportunities in the last few games. What does that mean? That he moves like a god, that he is well, that he runs a lot, that he has a fantastic spirit and does not hide.

“He has not scored and it is a shame. He has had important opportunities, he hit the crossbar. I see him in training, he never backs down. It can be a negative moment for him, even in the national team everything he tries goes wrong. But working as he is doing, as a true captain, he will get there. I see a player to whom Spalletti gives the number 10 shirt. I am convinced that he will unlock himself.”

That is huge praise from Juric, who is generally very reserved and honest about the players that he has, which suggests that he is clearly a fan of the Roma skipper.

Bringing the best out of him will only help the Giallorossi and the player himself, who has always been a vital creator and a goalscorer since he returned from Sassuolo.
