Roma fans banned from attending Napoli showdown for public safety concerns

Roma fans and residents to the Lazio region have been officially banned for the upcoming match with Napoli.

On Sunday, Roma will face a difficult away match against Antonio Conte’s Napoli, but Claudio Ranieri will have to deal with a particular situation: the Giallorossi coach will not be able to count on the support of the Roma fans in the away section.

The Prefecture has in fact ordered a travel ban for Giallorossi fans residing in Lazio, a measure that, unfortunately, has become customary on the occasion of the match between Roma and Napoli, both at the Stadio Olimpico and at the Maradona.

“The measure was adopted, on the similar opinion of the Naples Police Headquarters, in consideration of the assessments expressed by the Committee for the Analysis of the Security of Sports Events which, with a decision of last November 12, highlighted the danger of serious disturbances to public order and safety.”
