Roma man Nicola Zalewski puts on show for Poland: draws two penalties, scores game-winner vs Scotland

Date:

What a night it has been for Roma winger Nicola Zalewski.

While away on international duty, Zalewski gave Poland a valuable win thanks to a goal scored and two drawn penalties in their opening Nations League match against Scotland, which ended in a thrilling 3-2 in Glasgow.

Poland had initially taken control of the match by taking a two-goal lead, but the determination of the Scots and the support of the home crowd allowed them to come back and equalise.

However, just when it looked like the match was heading towards a draw, Zalewski took it upon himself to convert the decisive penalty in the 97th minute which secured the three points for his team.

Zalewski will return to the field on Sunday evening at 8.45pm, when Poland will take on Croatia, in another important match of the competition.
