Freeland overcame a nine-point halftime deficit to top Warren De La Salle and claim a win Saturday in the Louis O’Neal Classic at Saginaw Valley State University.
De La Salle led 33-24 at halftime before Freeland scored 21 points in the third quarter to take a 45-43 lead going into the fourth quarter.
Wilson Huckeby paced the 2-0 Falcons with 27 points, followed by Tristan Comer with 16 points and Tucker Hileman with 10. Armoni Portis led De La Salle with 23 points.
Heritage 58, Rochester Adams 56: Heritage took a 26-22 halftime lead and held off Rochester Adams for a win in the O’Neal Classic Saturday at SVSU. Jaylin Cooper scored 20 points with five steals to pace the 2-0 Hawks, with Lemonte Ramon-Wiley adding 13 points. Noah Arnold followed with 10 points and eight rebounds.
Caro 45, Birch Run 33: Caro used a fast start, outscoring Birch Run, 16-4, in the first quarter to earn the non-conference win at the O’Neal Classic Saturday at SVSU. Connor McGarry led the 2-0 Tigers with 17 points, with Ethan Kocher and Landyn Stine added eight points each. Gabe Martinus paced Birch Run with 11 points.
Coleman 49, Harrison 46: Jared DeVrieze scored 12 points with 10 rebounds to pace Coleman to its first win of the season. Logan Glazier also scored 12 points, with Robert Harsh adding 11.
