Satellite Captures Palisades Fire Burning in Los Angeles

Satellite imagery captured the Palisades fire burning in northern Los Angeles on Tuesday, January 7, as officials advised people near the fire to evacuate.

Satellite imagery released by the Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere at Colorado State University (CSU/CIRA) shows the Palisades fire burning in the Pacific Palisades region of Los Angeles on Tuesday afternoon.

The National Weather Service warned that Southern California was experiencing “strong, damaging and potentially life-threatening” Santa Ana winds, and advised residents to be prepared for fire danger.
